The event took place at the prestigious French Ambassador's Residence and marked a significant milestone in the cultural and creative landscape of our nation.

Creation Africa Ghana: Empowering Cultural Entrepreneurs

Création Africa Ghana is a groundbreaking initiative designed to empower entrepreneurs within the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs). Launched on Monday, November 13, 2023, the event aimed to bridge the gap between artistry and entrepreneurship, injecting vitality into the sector. The initiative is part of a broader effort, Création Africa, led by the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, encompassing 15 African countries, including Ghana.

A Presidential Endorsement: President Akufo-Addo's Enthusiastic Support

We are honored to announce that Berj Art Gallery had the privilege of curating an exhibition as part of the Création Africa Ghana launch. Our esteemed manager, William Prempeh, guided His Excellency President Akuffo Addo through the exhibition, showcasing a diverse array of works from both present and late artists.

In his address, President Akufo-Addo expressed his excitement about the initiative, stating, "Création Africa, which is taking Ghana as its first port of call, is something that we in Ghana should be proud of and accept." He highlighted the longstanding contribution of Ghanaian creatives in refining and redefining our culture. The President emphasized the economic potential of the cultural and creative industries, recognizing them as drivers of growth, wealth creation, and cultural output.

 

Ambassador Aniambossou's Vision for Creation Africa Ghana

French Ambassador to Ghana, Jules Armand Aniambossou, shared the vision behind Création Africa Ghana, emphasizing the goal to empower entrepreneurs through mentorship, resources, and financial support. The initiative, organized in partnership with Impact Hub, seeks to foster innovation and create job opportunities within the CCIs.

 

The Exhibition: A Showcase of Artistic Excellence

Berj Art Gallery had the distinct honor of curating an exhibition featuring renowned artists such as Amon Kotei, Dr. Oku Ampofo, Billy Baffoe Bonnie, Betty Acquah, Willy Prospero, Jonathan Aggrey, and Andre Dangno. The exhibition celebrated the rich tapestry of Ghanaian artistry, from the designer of the Ghana Coat of Arms to pioneers in plant medicine research and other accomplished artists.
